Q. Talk about your day.
CARLA BERNAT: I didn't play too good, but it was fun. I think the golf course is pretty challenging. Mostly through 15 -- 14, 15, 16 for me are really hard. Yeah, it was an okay day.
Q. Have you enjoyed this experience overall?
CARLA BERNAT: Yeah, it's so cool being here and playing with the best in the world, like having an opportunity to be here is just amazing. I'm really grateful for that.
Q. I saw you wave to Lottie as she was heading out there. Are you two friends?
CARLA BERNAT: We don't talk a lot. We don't text, but whenever we see each other in the tournaments, it's always nice to see a familiar face. Everyone here, it's kind of like I don't know them. It's so good to see what she's doing.
Q. Golf is an individual sport mostly, but how nice is it to have those friendships and support of the women?
CARLA BERNAT: It's so nice. It's so cool to see people like Lottie that work so hard, to see them just being successful like that. It's nice.
Q. Are you a football fan as well?
CARLA BERNAT: Like soccer?
Q. Yes.
CARLA BERNAT: Yes.
Q. Did you watch Spain get to the final?
CARLA BERNAT: I didn't have a chance, but Instagram kept me updated.
Q. What do you feel about the journey they've been on the past few years? Has it been inspiring? It feels like Spain has really taken hold and have been able to achieve under difficult circumstances.
CARLA BERNAT: It's really nice to see any type of athlete from Spain, like Carlos, also the soccer, the ladies, it's just cool to see that we can just compete everywhere.
Q. Does that inspire you? You've already achieved so much this year.
CARLA BERNAT: Yeah. I mean, it sounds crazy, but for me, the beginning, I haven't started yet. It's cool to win on amateur tournaments, but what I want, it's in the future.
Q. What are you saying about golf, like you say, in the future for you. Where are the areas that you feel like it needs to develop on the women's side? To get more global, corporate, or just increase, go to the next level maybe.
CARLA BERNAT: I think we need to be a little more open maybe. I feel like people maybe get a little bit shy whenever there is cameras, but most of the players that I know here, they're so nice, and they're so like fun. Maybe on TV, you cannot see that. Maybe in interviews, just try to be yourself.
Q. And on course as well maybe?
CARLA BERNAT: Yes. I personally like to see people like feeling and being able to relate to them. If I miss a shot, you're going to see that I miss a shot, right? I'm not going to be like make shot.
Q. So many great Spanish golfers that show emotionally, are you inspired by that? You've got to show who you are on the course.
CARLA BERNAT: I just feel that's Spanish. It comes from being from Spain, like the passion and just being really expressive, but yeah.
Q. How close are you with Paula and the fact that you play against her but you have a friendship with her too?
CARLA BERNAT: For me, it's not playing against Paula, just playing against the course and against me, because I just try to be better every day. It's so cool to see her here. She's been doing so well too, and having people you grew up with doing so well, it's so good to see.
Q. Then you mentioned Paula a little bit, and I know this is the result of her whole career. But ANWA made a big difference for you. This is the last big tournament after ANWA. Can you look back and think what it meant for you to win ANWA?
CARLA BERNAT: It meant so much. I feel like in the last three months I probably improved every single area of my game, even though it doesn't really show in the scores right now. I've also learned how to prepare for a major, which I feel like not many people have a chance to do. Like now I know how to kind of get around here.
I'm so happy, and I'm also excited what is coming because now I know what I can expect.
